Sunday March 24, not a good day..

Today I do the prep for my colonoscopy tomorrow and do tax prep. I believe I'm going to have a crappy day.

Earlier in the week I used old bananas to make oatmeal cookies from a Pinterest recipe. Do NOT do this. They were edible but nothing to write home about. I added peanut butter, cranberries, honey and cinnamon but they were still just awful.

Here are some pictures of them.....

How to spend a Saturday....

So, I spent today with my brother....we were doing a little work on a rental unit we own. He's the handyman, I'm the Willie.......(so named after the man who helped my Dad on the farm for years).  After the one hour drive to Due West and then the drive home, I found that my wonderful husband had made a huge pot of chili and invited nice friends for dinner. He'd even cleaned up in the kitchen!!! In honor of the return of said friends, Tom and Boel, from the hinterlands of Sweden where they live every 3 months, we opened our one and only bottle of Raymond Burr 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc. WOW, what a treat............a cab that was like nothing I've ever had.....just delicious and perfect on a rainy, cool night with chili, cornbread and coleslaw. ( I doubt Raymond Burr was thinking of this menu when he made this wine).

YUMMMM................

What to do with all that SC cotton? Got a field of cotton going to waste?

Carload of cotton.

Cotton bract boutonniere.

Cotton is a dirty product. You have lots of cleaning to do.

Cotton removed from bract, cleaned, and hot glued back into the bract.

Interesting things in life......wedding in MS

Photos from my nephew's wedding last month in Hatteisburg, MS.

My husband and son hosted a brunch, called a "late morning breakfast", at the Keg and Barrel. I  made gift bags for the men out of paper bags. The menu was manly: waffles, fried chicken, egg casserole, hash browns, fruit, juice and tea.

Whew, lots of bags!

Each guest had a gift bag with groom's initial

Keg and Barrel had odd configuration with fireplace in center.
